Welcome to the Web Space of First Presbyterian Church of Baldwin. As the nearly new pastor of this church I’d warmly invite you to be a part of this warm and nurturing community. If you are looking for a perfect church you should probably try elsewhere but if you want to be part of group of folk seeking to connect their lives to God whilst enriching the life of their community then this is a great place to be.
The focus of everything we do is our weekly worship service. As we open our hearts to God we are empowered to serve. We worship in a traditional way, sharing in new and old songs that have blessed the Christian community, participating in liturgy and listening for God’s Word through scripture and reflection.
Beginning on Rally Day (September 13th) we have Sunday School for our youth and an Adult Forum for our not so young ones. As the Fall season draws near we hope to develop programs in the week, both for youth and adults, that offer opportunities for discovery and fellowship.
Many in the community know of the Church as the place where the Community Nursery School of Baldwin meets each week, one of a number of community ventures that make use of our facilities. The congregation is supportive of numerous mission activities both locally and beyond.
Come and join us! We’d love to have you on board as we travel together on a journey of discovery shaped and inspired by the love of God we together find in Jesus Christ.

About REV. ADRIAN J. PRATT B.D.
Adrian commenced his ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Baldwin on Easter Sunday 2009.
A native of Great Britain, he was born and raised in a coastal town on the Wirral Peninsular called Moreton, situated on the opposite side of the River Mersey to Liverpool, England. In his later teens he became involved with the life of a Presbyterian Church that was at the end of the road where his family resided.
He attended Aberystwyth Theological College (an affiliated college with the University of Wales) in 1979, emerging with a Bachelor of Divinity degree and a Certificate in Pastoral Studies, becoming ordained as a minister within the Presbyterian Church of Wales in 1984.
During his time within the Presbyterian Church of Wales he served churches in Ruthin and Denbigh, in Liverpool and in the Caernarfon and Menai Bridge area of North Wales.
Following a pastoral exchange visit to Red Wing, Minnesota, he began to explore the possibility of accepting a call to a Presbyterian Church in this country. That call came through Fayetteville Presbyterian Church, West Virginia. He was received in 1996 as a minister within the Presbytery of West Virginia and enjoyed eight fruitful years serving the Fayetteville congregation.
In 2004 he accepted a call to be Senior Pastor at the Beckley Presbyterian Church, also in West Virginia. There he enjoyed ministering in a downtown church and made many friends amongst West Virginias majestic mountains.
Having felt a call to serve in the Baldwin area Rev. Pratt is currently enjoying being close to the ocean as well as the city. He looks forward to developing the ministry of the Baldwin Church as well as getting to know a new area and its people.
Rev. Pratt is married to Yvonne and has two children. His daughter, Helen currently lives in Virginia working in Broadcasting. His son, Matthew, is currently working in ‘visitation monitoring’ in State Parks in the Washington/Oregon area.
