Dear Friends,
By now most of you will have learnt of the passing of our much loved secretary Sharon DeCampi.
As secretary she was the first contact for many who came through our doors for the first time or walked into the office from the street. Despite her ill health in these last months she remained always upbeat and welcoming. The spiritual gifts of hospitality and welcome were so very evident in her life. We will miss her and extend our sympathy to her husband Gil and all her family.
As the new pastor in town Sharon really helped my transition run smoothly. She answered my questions. Quietly she would say “Well, in the past its been done this way.” She would find reports or supplies I needed in drawers I hadn’t even noticed were there. She even managed to decipher my handwriting, which, if you have ever seen it, is a major accomplishment! In 1 Corinthians 12:28 the gift of administration is up there in the list of spiritual gifts alongside apostles, teachers and miracle workers. Truly she was a gift to our church and we thank God for the ways her life touched our own.
I am grateful to all those volunteers who have spent time in the office, to the personnel committee for overseeing things during a time of transition and to Bobbi who has seen to it that we had a bulletin the last few weeks.
We welcome a new secretary in the person of Yvonne Pratt. Office hours will now be Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. till 1 p.m.
